Collaboration Is the Secret Sauce!

Collaboration Is the Secret Sauce!

Is there ever enough time in the day? Nope. Not even close. I know I’m not alone in that. So the big question became: how do I add more goodness to my offerings without cloning myself or running on fumes?

One word: collaboration.

I had the absolute best time working with Brianna Reagan on my new logo (full story coming in another blog 👀). But when the branding process wrapped up, we didn’t just have a logo—we had all the things: stickers, washi tape, tissue paper, and the most gorgeous patterns. Total creative candy.

Since Brianna had already dipped her toes into fabric design, I casually floated the idea of custom Tamara Martz Designs fabric. Then I followed it up with a very important question: “… who do you know that sews?”

Here’s where personal growth enters the chat. Somewhere in my 45+ years, I’ve finally learned that it doesn’t hurt to ask. And plot twist—I’ve also gotten pretty okay with being told no. So asking? Not scary anymore (actually...still scary...but I am getting more comfortable with being uncomfortable).

With that mindset (and Brianna’s nudge), I connected with Jamie from Sew Suzukiya and sent a slightly-random-but-hopeful DM: “How would you feel about making a custom jewelry organizer?”

Turns out, even though she had no idea who this random jeweler was, a jewelry organizer had already been living rent-free in her brain for ages—and this was the push she needed.

And honestly? She had me at purple leather 💜✨
